New Season, New Dreams

Hi All,

Well here we are — New Season Eve 🙂! Preseason wrapped up Saturday, and tomorrow we dive into Week One of the real season.

I took the past week to recharge after what was truly an amazing long course season. Of course, I’ve been reflecting on all that we accomplished together:

  • ✅ Dozens of team records
  • ✅ Multiple LSC and Junior Olympic records
  • ✅ Scores of swims ranked in the National Top 16 (including several #1 spots!)

Wherever we go, coaches comment on our swimmers’ technique, pace, and race skills. I’m honored to be part of this journey. Thank you to our parents for your support, to our athletes for your relentless effort, and to our staff for making this vision a reality every day.

And if you know me, you know I’m already thinking about how we can make this next season even better 🙂.

I’ll keep this first note brief — mostly gratitude, with a few admin updates for the week ahead:

🏊 Practice Schedule

  • No AM practices this week.
  • Morning practices begin next Tuesday.
  • National Development and above: Tuesday–Friday, 5:30 AM.

📅 Meet Schedule

  • Our meet calendar will be posted this week.
  • Every swimmer will have appropriate competitive options.

🎒 Equipment Needs

  • We’ll send a breakdown of required and suggested equipment for each training group.

🎁 Call for Donations

  • A team “wish list” will go out soon for additional equipment.
  • While we’re grateful for our FAU Owls family support, these extras will elevate the athlete experience.

👥 Group Designations

  • As our team grows, we’ll be regrouping swimmers not just by speed, but also by emotional maturity.
  • This won’t affect training times or intensities — it’s about ensuring the best environment socially and athletically.

I could keep going, but I’ll stop here (I’m not supposed to start working until tomorrow, lol).

Thank you again for letting us be a part of your family’s swim journey. I know this will be our best season yet at FAA. Ready… GO!

See you at the pool,
Rich
