FAA Policy on Swimmer Recruitment and Parent Conduct

Clarifying Our Commitment to Integrity, Transparency, and Respect in Athlete Movement

At Florida Atlantic Aquatics (FAA), we are incredibly proud of the momentum our swimmers and families have created. With that growth comes added responsibility—to each other, to our sport, and to the broader swim community.

🚫 FAA Does Not Recruit Swimmers From Other Teams

Let us be clear:
FAA coaches do not initiate contact with swimmers who are currently registered with other USA Swimming clubs. We also do not direct or encourage any family to reach out to others about leaving their current team.

We believe our program speaks for itself, and we’re committed to honoring the boundaries of ethical conduct at all times.

✅ Families Are Welcome to Share Their Experiences—Respectfully

We understand that when a swimmer is thriving, parents naturally want to share. That’s part of a healthy swim community!

However, we kindly ask that FAA families do not attempt to persuade other families to leave their teams. Conversations should remain positive, respectful, and free of pressure.

If someone asks about FAA, feel free to:

  • Share our website
  • Suggest they reach out to Coach Rich directly
  • Offer your personal experience—but not advice to leave their team

📚 What USA Swimming Says

“A coach shall not recruit or attempt to recruit an athlete who is already a member of another USA Swimming club.”
— USA Swimming Code of Conduct, Article 304.3.17

While this rule applies to coaches, if it appears that parents or swimmers are acting on behalf of a club, it may lead to complaints or review.

🧭 Let’s Stay Above Reproach

We’ve built something special here at FAA. The last thing we want is for our success to be clouded by misunderstandings or disputes. Let’s continue to lead by example—with integrity, transparency, and respect for others in our sport.

If you ever have questions about this policy, please contact me directly.

Thank you for all you do to make this team a great place to swim.

See You At The Pool,
