Championship Season Begins – A Great Start for FAA

Rich Rogers • March 4, 2026

BB Championship results, Age Group Championships this weekend, and a big finish ahead for FAA swimmers.

Hi All,

This is the time of year when all of the hard work starts to show. We are right in the heart of championship season.

Our goal is simple: swim fast, have fun, and enjoy the results of the work that has been put in every day at practice. We have seen tremendous growth from our individual swimmers and from the team as a whole.

Regardless of which championship meet your swimmer is targeting, this is a great time for all of us to come together as a program and enjoy these events. These are special moments for the athletes and the families who support them.

Before We Begin…

Swimmers participating in this weekend’s Age Group Championship meet should be picked up at 6:30pm tonight. We will be finishing practice a little early so they can get some extra rest, catch up on any school work, and arrive at the meet fully focused for the weekend.

BB Champs Started Us Off Right

FAA kicked off the championship season with a very strong showing at the BB Championships held at Boca Raton High School last weekend.

We saw:
• many new
Age Group Championship qualifying times
• a large number of
personal best swims
• several swimmers gaining valuable experience
competing in a finals session at a championship meet

While FAA did not score team points at this meet, our swimmers actually posted the highest combined performance score of the 18 teams that did score points, based on the SwimCloud Age Group Performance Points system.

Team Performance Scores:

  1. Florida Atlantic Aquatics – 477.6
  2. Swim Coral Springs – 444.5
  3. Swim Fort Lauderdale – 444.1

Congratulations to all of our swimmers. It was a fun and exciting way to start the championship season.

Age Group Championships

The BB Championships were just the beginning.

This weekend we will be sending a couple dozen swimmers to the 14 & Under Florida Age Group Championships (JOs) in Coral Springs.

This is a major milestone for our program. Just a year and a half ago we barely had this many swimmers in the entire team.

As with BB Champs, we are looking for strong performances across the board. Some swimmers will be chasing ISCA National qualifying times, while others will be aiming to earn finals swims and podium finishes.

The meet begins tomorrow and runs through Sunday evening.

A separate meet-specific email will go out shortly with the detailed information for families attending.

What’s Next?

After Age Group Championships, the championship season continues with:

Florida Gold Coast Senior Championships
ISCA Senior Nationals
ISCA Age Group Nationals
TYR Championships in Tampa to close out the short course season

It’s an exciting stretch for the team.

Look for more details about this weekend’s meet shortly.

Are you getting pumped? I know I am.

See you at the pool,

Rich
